Dogs, Children and other Common Questions (AKA The Rules)
We get a lot of enquiries about dogs and children so we thought it right to set out some rules on these and other matters, at the risk of being boring. We beg your understanding, and in particular with regards to our dining room. It is quite small and gets very busy, hence the restrictions below.
1. Dogs welcome
Quiet, small, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area only and must be kept on a short lead. Dogs are not permitted on the banquettes or seats. No barking or whining allowed!
2. Children welcome – until 5pm in the bar and until close in the Dining Room.
Well-behaved children are welcome and must be kept at the table and accompanied to the loo. Pushchairs are discouraged as we are a small pub. Two highchairs are available.
3. Various dining rules
- Sundays. Last bookings in dining room at 6.30pm. Thereafter we serve the bar menu in the bar only.
- Reservations. In general we only accept reservations for the dining room.
- Bar. We do not generally accept reservations in the bar, though it is a rule we will break for larger parties who pre-order and agree to a minimum spend.
4. Drinking and Smoking Outside
Please be respectful of our neighbours and keep noise to an absolute minimum when arriving, leaving or standing outside the pub. Drinking, smoking and even standing are absolutely not permitted on Peel Street.
5. Coats, bags and other personal possessions are brought into the pub at the owner’s risk. The pub accepts no responsibility for their loss or theft.
6. No bicycles permitted inside the building.
7. The following are forbidden by law:
- Underage drinking (below the age of 18)
- The serving of drunk customers
- Illegal drugs
Customers suspected of being in contravention will be politely asked to leave the pub.
8. Admission is at the absolute discretion of management.
9. These rules may be varied from time to time at the absolute discretion of management, in the interests of running a great pub for all!
