5 Stars for The Blue Stoops
Reviews of a different kind have been coming in for the The Blue Stoops, with the gentlemen in Hi-Vis brandishing clipboards now giving their verdicts.
First off, Cask Marque, who test the quality of the cellaring and serving of Cask Ale in pubs across the country. Thanks to the meticulous work of Bar Manager Denis Siniak (seen here pulling a pint) we scored an astonishing 97% and only missed 100% because the Pale Ale was the last pint in the barrel and hence just a tad cloudy. Well done Denis!
Then, the big one. The EHO inspection. That’s the Environmental Health Office. You don’t mess about with these chaps - they have the power to shut down a premises if they aren’t happy. The pub WhatsApp group was humming as the Inspector moved from kitchen, to cellar, to bar, sucking his teeth and taking notes. Nerves were jangling a couple of hours later as he gave his verdict - Five Stars! The man in the white coat felt bound to confess he had never seen a beer cellar as clean as ours, not to mention the spotless bar and kitchen. Cue mass celebrations among the team, and deservedly so - well done the Stoops Team and especially Billy Falconer (GM) and Jacob Farley (Head Chef). And Denis, again.
